According to The Nielsen Company, global consumers spent more than five and half hours on social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter in December 2009. After reading this report I thought to analyze which site is used by which kind of user. But before going on for full investigation I would like to clear that it is not to criticize any particular site. This article focuses on how you can know the personality of an individual by just knowing which his favorite site is.
I am going to do the clinical dissection of users of three famous sites. These are Facebook, Orkut and Twitter. About other sites I really can’t say much as I don’t know personally about people using them. These three sites serve almost same purpose but still different user prefers different sites. So let’s start the game.
User 1: A very social person, for him social networking site is just a medium to keep in touch with friends, prefer talking to them more often and also like more security. This person will use orkut more than any other site. His priority is to share things only with friends.
User 2: This person is with lots of attitude. For him it is enough that his friends are keeping an eye on his activities on the site. He likes to play games or try different things. Also some might join this site to look into others album only. For this person the site is Facebook.
User 3: He is either a great fan of some celebrity, and would like to know even when his hero sneezes, or like to have his own followers. Hence more chances are that this person is a celebrity himself. I know you have guessed which site is this. It is none other that Twitter.
Other observations: Orkut user like things in order. For them scrapbooks, testimonials and status messages are all equally important. On the other hand a Facebook user has status message at the centre of all. For him writing on others wall or sending message is nothing less than doing job in office or doing homework. The third kind of user is a loyal fan of celebrity and keeps the good work of retweeting to their tweets and considers any tweet to them as reward.
Now in the end would like to add a twist, because I know, you would be wondering which site out of three is my choice?
I will use blogging and all three because I have friends of all three type.
PS: Comment if you find any fact true about you.

Why you choose to do something? - This question has been popping in front of me quite frequently. Does everything you do needs to fall on the path of your highest ambition. If it is so that means you can predict what the future holds in store. This is something impossible. In-fact life is like an improvisation comedy, where people(improvisers) create a whole drama on the spur of the moment. They use audience suggestions to guide the performance instead of a written script. Life is almost same which surprises you every-time with something new, something you had never planned for and in that case you don't always act to achieve your bigger goal. Had Gandhiji thought of become the 'father of the nation' or was he always wanted to lead the fight for the independence of nation? He was chosen for this role by people. What he did is that he fought for his own esteem. He started Non-Cooperation Movement if he had planned for this as a child he would have never went to England to become a barrister.
After saying so much the question arises are all those people who plan for future should stop planning? They just sit and wait for future to act for them? Its not like that one should always have a plan but must also be ready to act according to situation. You are free to choose your aim and the path to achieve that but you should also keep yourself ready for the obstacles that will come in between. Even the improvisers do a lot of practice. They indulge themselves for hours to perfect their art. They always follow certain rules. One of the most important rules that make improv possible is the idea of agreement that is to have characters accept everything that happens to them. Similarly in life one should always be ready to accept everything happens to them and act in accordance to that.
Finally summering all this there is one sentence:"Plan as if you'll live forever but live as if you'll die tomorrow." or as Ppaulo Coehlo said,"When we least expect it, life sets us a challenge to test our courage and willingness to change; at such a moment, there is no point in pretending that nothing has happened or in saying that we are not ready. The challenge will not wait." (He posted it on facebook at the same time I wrote this post and made me edit it after posting this is called serendipity)

SSB Interview : An experience of lifetime
There is so much adage about the SSB Interviews that a candidate feels that without going to coaching institutes they can't make it in SSB or army. I have faced the SSB twice and I believe that anyone can pass these SSBs with a positive attitude, mind frame and confidence. Here I am sharing my experience of SSB.
DAY 1: This day is called as Screening day and people think that this is an elimination day but the truth is different.
In my first SSB out of 79 some 33 candidates were selected for the next stage but in my second SSB out of 80, 52 were selected for the second stage. So this shows that they are looking for deserving candidates and its not like that they will take only a handful of candidates.
The procedure for the day is simple. First there are 2 intelligence test and for that they show the sample questions first and then the test start having similar questions only. Anyone with average aptitude can solve these questions.
These test are than followed by a picture perception test and a GD based on picture.
In picture perception test you are asked to write a story of about 100 words in 4 minutes based on what you perceive from the picture shown. After this people are called in group of 13 to 16 where firstly they have to narrate there story( this is an important part and the narration should be loud and clear) and then a GD to make a common group story.
TIPS: While writing story don't cut any word or sentence and narrate the story with confidence take part in GD once or twice with a valid point and you will be through for the first round. What I have seen is that someone who narrate story well get selected even without speaking in GD. But still try make contribution in group story.
DAY 2: Psychoanalysis day.
For this keep a positive mind frame and a good pen. On this day a series of test are conducted. First test is Picture perception test in this candidates are shown 12 pictures and they have to write stories for those pictures. For each story 4 minutes will be provided.
After this Word Association Test is there in which candidates are shown 60 words and they are supposed to write a sentence for that word(sentence may or may not contain the shown word) in 15 seconds.
These test are followed by a Situation Reaction Test in this candidates are given a test booklet containing 60 situations and they have to write reactions in 30 minutes of time.
After this candidates have to write about them selves under the headings:a) what ur parents say about you, b) what ur teachers say about you , c) what ur friends say about you , d) what you think about urself.
DAY 3and 4: These two days you have to stay with GTO and will have to perform various individual and group tasks. There are two GDs on some current topic of country( my GD was on women reservation bill and aggression in young generation). Extempore in which you have to choose 1 topic out of given 4 topics. Military planning(imp) followed by GD, progressive group task, half group task(imp), snake race(imp) , individual obstacles(10 expected to do at-least 7), command task(imp), Final group task are the various test that are conducted on these two test.
TIP: tasks marked as imp are those which I thing are important and a candidate who do not perform well in these task has very less chances of getting recommended. Other task are also important but in these tasks you have better chances to show ur own capabilities. Also to perform in PGT, HGT, CT you need common sense which you either have or don't have . In case you don't get a solution don't panic and keep trying.
Be cooperative in group and don't oppose anyone whatever the situation. You can give other solution but don't say someone that his solution is absurd.
INTERVIEW: Interview can be scheduled on any of the days after screening. Interview questions are more HR type with a few GK questions based on Army, Navy or Air-force or last one years current affairs. Sometime questions based on ur graduation subjects can be asked it depends upon luck.
Common questions: About education why you choose the subjects after 10th ? why particular college and subjects for graduation? Participation in extra curricular activities? About family background, parents education ,siblings education,to whom you go for help? who are ur friends why they are ur friends ?what ur best friend will tell about you? and also why army?
DAY 5: Conference day
In this day all the officers will be in uniform and they decide which candidate has to be recommended. Also you will be called in the conference hall for say 30 seconds max to say you best of luck.
This is followed by result.
I hope this information will be helpful for those who wish to make career in Defence services. My advice is simple and I think everyone give the same advice "be what you are".
At last if you get SSB call from banglore don't miss the opportunity to see a very beautiful and happening city.

Last night was the end of the first decade of 21st century. I was sleeping opposite to what the world was doing. You might be thinking what a jerk he is who went to sleep on new year eve. But I went to bed early so that I see the rising sun of the new year.I woke up early at 5’oclock and went straight to the terrace of building I am staying in and just to realize that the moon was still shining in the sky. It was dark and cold out there and the whole city was sleeping. The smell of the crackers, those were used last night, was still in the air. But there was peace.
I sat there and saw the moon, full and bright, and it was saying that sun wouldn’t rise. Suddenly I said ‘AA RAHI RAVI KI SAWARI’ . And I recited the whole poem. I was surprised and happy because I still remember the poem. It was in the 3rd or 4th std when I had read this beautiful poem. And it was fresh in my mind as if I had read it a day before. I repeated the poem again and again waiting for the sun to rise and to see if this moon ,shining in the sky as a king , will really look like a beggar.
I was sitting for about an hour but still there was no sign of the sun. I went down checked the news paper and came to know that it will rise at 7:15 am. I did my routine work went back. This time darkness was gone and the eastern part of sky was shining in bright orange color. There was some more time left to sunrise. I looked for the moon it has shifted from its earlier position but was bright as before. I looked around ,the city was coming to life again, the mini buses was running on the road, there were people doing exercise ( I hope it wasn’t there new year resolution), but there wasn’t any birds. I again turned towards moon it was at the horizon ready to go at any time.
There were many flocks of birds in the sky. They were singing, flying, enjoying and told me that sun had come. I jumped to get a glimpse of it and there it was behind a tall building pure red in color, full of energy. I turned to see the moon but it was already gone( and I was happy that it had gone before the sunrise otherwise it would have looked like a beggar). I turned back now I could see the sun without jumping and I prayed for the well being of the world and thanked to bring this beautiful day and a new year.
Here is that poem.I believe nothing can describe the sunrise better than this
Nav kiran ka rath saja hai
Kali kusum se path saja hai
Badalon se anucharon ne, swarn ki poshak dhari
Aa rahi ravi ki sawari
vihag bandi aur charan
gaa rahe hain kirti gayan
chodkar meidan bhagi , tarakon ki fauj saari
aa rahi ravi ki sawari
chahta uchloon vijay kah
par thithakta dekh kar yeh
raat ka raja khada hai, raah par banker bhikhari
aa rahi ravi ki sawari
